Classroom crisis

Manjolo High is currently facing classroom shortage problems following the increase in enrollment.

The school  has been growing in past two years, hence the number of pupils is outgrowing the available classrooms. This has compelled the school to resort to an out-door learning culture in which pupils learn under trees.

This phenomenon is feared to disturb the education delivery in the school.

Addressing a parents meeting at the school, the headmaster, Mr. Japhet Ngwenya said, "Learning outside is slowly encroaching into the way we are performing as school. Teaching kids outside is really disturbing owing to the community member who pass by.

The head also added that kids who learn under trees normally take classroom sessions as physical education sessions (P.E) in which rowdy behaviour is not really questioned. They hardly take learning seriously.

The headmaster called upon the assistance of the community members and other well wishers to contribute some funds towards building some classrooms in order to alleviate the situation.

Pupils also expressed concern over the learning environment.

However, the school has been doing well in terms of pass rate, despite these problems. The teachers are still a dedicated team moved by the need to educate the locals.
